There can be nothing more irritating than an office chair that creaks, squeaks or makes another annoying sound whenever you move – especially when it starts to irritate the people around you, too. Luckily, it only takes a few minutes to fix a chair that squeaks, and your colleagues will love you for it.

Firstly, you will need to kneel down on the floor next to your office chair and move it around until you can locate the source of the creak. The most common perpetrators are the swivel mechanism around the wheelbase, the sides and the back of the chair.

Secondly, you will need to apply a small amount of an appropriate spray-able lubricant to the part of the chair that is creaking. Try and find a lubricant that contains a fine-tip nozzle, as this makes it easier to get the spray exactly where you want it.

Thirdly, you will need to wipe away any excess lubricant using a soft cloth, which will prevent the spray from staining the upholstery of your office chair. You can move the chair back and forth a few times to work the lubricant into the swivel mechanism. Leave the chair to sit like this for a few minutes, then test it for any further creaking.

If you find that your office chair is still making any noise, you can apply another coat of lubricant to the affected areas. If the noise is still present after this, you can try applying the lubricant to the surrounding joints to see if this makes a difference.

Most people think that making a big deal out of the choice of office chairs in Melbourne is a waste of time and energy – it’s just somewhere to sit, isn’t it? But this is where these people are wrong – for people who spend all day in an office, the type of chair that they sit on is of utmost importance for ensuring their comfort and health. So, how do you choose the perfect chair?

Ergonomics : You should always opt for an office chair that has been designed to eliminate back pain, leg fatigue, sore shoulders, and all the other health issues that are caused by sitting in the wrong kind of chair. If a chair does not appear to be ergonomic, do not buy it.

Position and Height : Surprisingly enough, the width, back height and weight capacities of office chairs in Melbourne can actually vary greatly. You will actually change your sitting position hundreds of times a day (to reach for the phone or to wake up your limbs, for example), so it is important to choose a chair that allows for this.

Materials: The various materials used to make office chairs can actually add to or take away from the support and comfort that the seat offers, so it is important to choose the most appropriate material for your needs. Mesh is great for airflow whilst moulded foam is great for comfort and leather actually encourages your body to sweat.

At the end of the day, the more comfort and support that an office chair in Melbourne can provide, the more efficient and productive your employees will be on a daily basis. For those who spend all day at a desk, a great chair is paramount to achieving this.

Spending most of your day, 5 days a week at work can lead to all sorts of stains and dirt finding their way onto your office chair. Whether your boss has just spotted how much of a mess your workstation is or you’re just sick and tired of sitting in filth, there comes a time when you will want to clean office chairs in Melbourne – and keep them that way. And, thankfully, you don’t have to use harsh chemical cleaners to achieve this.

To begin with, give your office chair a quick wipe with a dry rag to remove any dust or large pieces of debris. Then, mix together a solution comprised of 2 teaspoons dishwashing liquid and 1 cup of warm water. After stirring a couple of times, the solution is ready for use on your chair. Dip the rag into the solution and use it to gently dab at the various stains. Once  you can no longer see the stain, rinse the area with clean water and leave to dry.

Another highly effective way to clean office chairs in Melbourne is to apply automotive upholstery cleaner to the stains. Use a sponge to rub the cleaner into the upholstery of the chair. Generally, automotive upholstery cleaner only takes a few minutes to dry and it will appear as if your stains have simply disappeared.

Keeping office chairs in Melbourne clean in the future is also not a difficult task – if you know what you’re doing. Essentially, avoid spilling food and drink onto your chair. Eat somewhere else if possible. But, if you do happen to have an accident, ensure that you clean it up immediately. You can also apply an upholstery protection spray that will help to deter stains from settling too far into the fabric.
